The period of validity of the Law of Georgia on Public Health has been extended by six months, with 81 MPs approving the initiative.
Head of the Healthcare Committee, Dimitri Khundadze, presented the amendment.
In Khundadze's words, doctors have put forth the initiative. He expressed the hope that after six months, the necessity of extended the validity period would no longer exist. "For this purpose, the public is obliged to follow the recommendations and rules issued by the Consultation Council," he said.
The government is entitled to introduce restrictions without declaring a state of emergency.
