"Our path to de-occupation is clear; it is a peaceful path. Georgia has made its statement, refused to use any force, I want to call on Russia to follow the same path in this region and the world today in general," the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, stated at a press conference with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to her, today, Georgia and Ukraine are united by centuries-old friendship and parallel tasks, and common goals.
"De-occupation is the pain, anxiety, and challenge of our countries. I want to mention the conclusion of the Strasbourg court in this regard, which is a great victory for Georgia and the restoration of relations with the citizens living in the occupied territories. Daily provocations from Russia, moving along the delimitation line, kidnappings cannot continue. Today I would like to mention once again our citizen Gakheladze, who has been detained for 12 years, state agencies are working on releasing him, and we expect direct support from all our partners in this regard," said Salome Zurabishvili.
