The Georgian government does not restrict the freedom of expression, PM Giorgi Gakharia said at the briefing.
In Gakharia's words, even protesters have a simple solution, which is following rules: wearing face masks and keeping a safe distance.
"Georgia and the Georgian government do not restrict the freedom of expression. This is the issue of accountability of each and every politician who worries when epidemiologists compare different gatherings to one another. I really have no idea how weddings, funeral ceremonies, and demonstrations differ. The virus spreads at all these events equally fast," Giorgi Gakharia declared.
Gakharia also pointed out that deputy members of parliament have gathered easily, for there are no restrictions on people's movement now.
Georgia authorities have recently introduced stricter restrictions.
