Turkey tightens border crossing with Georgia due to the threat of spreading coronavirus. According to the Turkish Consulate in Georgia, the citizens will have to submit a passport when crossing the border.

"As of 26.02.2020, at 23:30, the passport control began for trailers (TIR) drivers arriving in Georgia. Currently, entry is not permitted for those who were in China, Iran, South Korea, and Italy in the past 21 days," says the Consulate statement.

The first case of coronavirus in Georgia reported on February 26. The 50-year-old man is a Georgian citizen who spent a week in Iran.
