UNM member says Saakashvili expressed delight with election results

A UNM member Eka Kherkheulidze says that election results, especially election results in Tbilisi, have left Mikheil Saakashvili delighted.

Kherkheulidze told journalists outside the Rustavi prison facility, where she visited Mikheil Saakashvili, that he is very well aware of what the Georgian people have gone through. As Eka Kherkheulidze said, he knows that citizens have made their decision under horrible pressure _ they were bribed, blackmailed, the elections were rigged, but they still made their decision. Otherwise, as she said, the ex-president knows the opposition would have won much more votes.

''Saakashvili expressly stated that missing victory is inadmissible, and the Georgian people must fight till the end. He asked Nika Melia to stay strong, maintain his achievement, and gain victory,'' the UNM member declared.

Kherkheulidze also pointed out that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky's statement that he is working to return the Georgian ex-president to Ukraine has not left him surprised.

According to Eka Kherkheulidze, Mikheil Saakashvili does not plan to stop hunger strike. He intends to spread his letter from prison later.
