A Wounded Warrior Rehabilitation Center named after Georgian national heroine Maro Makashvili has been opened in the village of Tserovani.

The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with ultramodern rehabilitation and medical equipment, which will considerably improve wounded military men's physical and psychological state, according to the Ministry of Defense of Georgia. As per the body, the modern facility lives up to the expectations and requirements of wounded soldiers.

The new center was opened by Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, Chairman of the Parliament Archil Talakvadze and Acting Ambassador of the United States to Georgia Elizabeth Rudd.

Prime Minister elaborated upon the initiative aiming to make January 27 the day of wounded and injured military men.

After delivering speeches and cutting the red tape, the guests inspected the infrastructure of the building.

The rehab facility has been built in cooperation with the U.S., according to the Ministry of Defense.

The U.S. Embassy in Georgia has published the corresponding statement on the recently opened center on its website.
