Sandra Lindsay, a critical care nurse who treated COVID-19 patients in New York City became the first person in the state to receive the vaccine Monday as part of a campaign to inoculate front-line health care workers, according to ABC7 News.
The COVID-19 vaccine, developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, has not been approved or licensed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). However, on 12 December, the administration permitted its use in the case of US citizens over 16 if the urgent necessity for this surfaced.
