Aiming at minimization of human contact between tourists and hotels’ personnel robots are serving in Hong Kong hotels.

On the background of COVID-19 pandemic, owners of hotels decrease the number of staff and fire the employed personnel. Though in Hong Kong L’hotel Group, on the contrary, has hired a new staff member.

The first robot, called Jenny, is serving 432 rooms of the hotel, including the persons in quarantine. It fulfils 130-150 orders a day. Three artificial intellect robots are serving the hotel.

Many of the hotel guests order services just because they want to take a photo with the robot.

Robot Jenny prepares the orders and places them into another robot which delivers it to the guests. After that the robot acts independently, it calls elevator, goes to rooms and waits to pass over the order, then it goes back. The robots are disinfected after each order completion.

The hotel administration plans to buy more robots after the pandemic is over. Each robot costs over 100 thousand dollars.

It is supposed that such robots will substitute hotel personnel in the nearest five years.
