Akhaltsikhe District Court has sentenced Vakhtang Robakidze to three-day administrative imprisonment on charges of threatening Vakhtang Robakidze, the Georgian Dream deputy.

He is charged under Article 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which means disobeying a law enforcer's request.

The prosecution demanded a five-day jail sentence, Robakidze himself demanded bail. According to him, because of his health condition, he is on medication.

The detainee had no lawyer. Robakidze explained at the hearing that he was not acquainted with the details of the case and did not see the arrest record.

"I was drunk, but nothing else happened," Robakidze explained.

Vakhtang Robakidze was detained for verbally and physically abusing MP Anri Okhanashvili at a restaurant in Bakuriani, where he was together with his family.

The investigation is in progress under article 151 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisaging threats of death or bodily injury.
