Acting PM of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia congratulates Georgian candidate Gocha Lortkipanidze on being elected as The Hague International Criminal Court judge.
As he wrote on social media, he believes Lortkipanidze will be one of the ICC's best judges.
"Today we found out a piece of essential news – Gocha Lortkipanidze was elected as an ICC judge by the eastern European quote. He will be the first judge in The Hague Court from Georgia.
I am proud of this most outstanding achievement, and I believe that he will be one of the best ICC judges with his highest professional level.
Mr. Gocha will take the honorable post in several months," Gakharia's Facebook post reads.
