"A military serviceman who went missing on December 21 has been found in Tbilisi," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
According to the agency, the soldier is feeling well and is currently being questioned at the police station.
"Officers of the Gardabani District Division of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs found a contract military serviceman of the Ministry of Defense T.G. in Tbilisi as a result of intensive joint search and investigation activities in coordination with the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense.
Military serviceman T.G. was present until 09:00 and was performing his duties on December 21, and after the change of the check, he exercised his right to dismiss under the contract and left the territory of the military unit.
The fact is being investigated under Article 143 of the Criminal Code," the ministry said in a statement.
The 35-year-old soldier left the Vaziani military base on December 21 but did not return home. The next day he did not show up for work, after which his search began.
The Ministry of Defense issued a statement regarding the incident.
