Mikautadze: I will exert all-out efforts to live up to the trust

Judge of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the High Council of Justice of Georgia Giorgi MIkautadze has expressed his gratitude to the Parliament for its support.

As per Mikautadze, he will start fulfilling his duties tomorrow.

"I will exert all-out efforts to live up to the trust and serve my country as I have served it. I also want to thank those who have subjected us to criticism since it is a stimulus for us. Criticism pushes us to do our job better, which is why I am grateful to these people too," Mikautadze said.

The Parliament approved candidates of 14 Supreme Court judges out of 19.

Current Prosecutor General Shalva Tadumadze, Deputy Prosecutor General Mamuka Vasadze, and Secretary of the Supreme Council Giorgi Mikautadze have been appointed to the posts of permanent judges.

Chairman of the Constitutional Court Zaza Tavadze voluntarily refused to compete for the position of the Supreme Court judge.

Since Shalva Tadumadze has been appointed as a permanent judge, the position of the prosecutor general is now vacant.
