Giorgi Mshvenieradze, the lawyer of TV Pirveli, has filed a lawsuit in the Court of Appeals.
The TV Channel is appealing against the City Court's decision, which gave the right to the Prosecutor's Office to conduct investigative actions.
As Giorgi Mshvenieradze, the lawyer of TV Pirveli, points out, despite the government officials' statements that no one is planning to intrude on television, this threat exists as long as there is a legal document.
According to the lawyer, this document is illegal and restrictive of free speech.
On March 6, "TV Pirveli" released a telephone conversation recording allegedly between Bera Ivanishvili, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, and Anzor Chubinidze, where Bera Ivanishvili asks Garibashvili to crack down on specific individuals because of Facebook comments.
The judge granted the motion of the prosecutor's office and gave permission to remove the materials from "TV Pirveli." The case concerns the secret audio recordings that aired on Nodar Meladze's "Shabati," March 6.
The Tbilisi City Court issued a statement regarding TV Pirveli.
