Labor party leader says summer is bringing hope to Georgian people

After the meeting between the authorities and the opposition, Labor party leader Shalva Natelashvili said that the summer is bringing hope to the Georgian people. However, in his words, the parties cannot have high hopes for reaching an agreement at this point.

"Our guest, President of the European Council Charles Michel, has demonstrated his unique political and diplomatic skills. He did an incredible job _ something that seemed unimaginable; thanks to him, we sat down at a negotiating table, together with the head of the Georgian government, to undergo consultations, which, mind you, can be deemed neither negotiations nor another round of talks until Nika Melia and all other political prisoners are released from police custody. Also, our requirement on calling early elections, which must result not only in power changing hands but improving our life also, remains the same," Natelashvili said.

Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, appealed to the opposing parties to hold a dialogue today.
