"Results of the voting confirm Georgian diplomacy's success," the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, responded to the resolution adopted by the UN on the social network Twitter.
The Head of Government thanks the partners for their support.
"Today, at the UN General Assembly, adopted a resolution with unprecedented support on the IDPs, thus strengthening their return home. The UN resolution has 84 supporting countries and 54 co-initiators. I thank the partners for their support," said the Prime Minister.
The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution initiated by Georgia and 54 countries on "Status of Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia and the Tskhinvali Region / South Ossetia, Georgia."
