Lasha Khutsishvili will replace Ivane Machavariani as the Minister of Finance. Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili nominated the new Minister before the Government session.
"As for the new Minister of Finance, Lasha has been a member of the team for a long time, so he is very familiar with the system. Since 2014 he has held the position of Deputy Minister of Finance. He is a member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the platform initiated by G20. In 2013-2014 he was the head of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance. From 2008 to 2013, he worked in the Big Four in the international company Ernst & Young in the field of taxation and law. Lasha is a graduate of the Free University Business School (ESM) and a Business Administration graduate from the Preston University. I wish Mr. Lasha success in his role as Minister of Finance, and I believe he will continue his work successfully," said the head of government.
The post of Finance Minister became vacant after Finance Minister Ivane Machavariani resigned on March 31.
