Tokyo will host the 2020 Paralympic Games following the summer Olympics from today, August 24, to September 5. A large-scale sporting event, like the Olympics, is held a year later due to the pandemic.
There are 4 400 athletes in 22 disciplines in the Japanese capital, where 539 sets of medals will be drawn.
13 Georgian para-athletes will compete in 6 sports at the Paralympic Games. The flag bearer of our delegation will be Irma Khetsuriani.
Wheelchair fencers will start the competition from the Georgian Paralympic delegation, and on the final day, on September 4, Paralympic shooter Lado Chincharauli will compete.
