Iranian military force made a statement regarding shooting down the Ukrainian jet. They admitted that the Ukrainian jetliner was mistakenly shot down by the Iranian missile. Iran links the shooting down the Boeing 737 to human mistake, stating that the jet turned to the direction of the sensitive military base causing the mechanical mistake of the military staff located in the base.
According to the statement, each person responsible for the mistake will be strictly punished.
It is noteworthy that Iran categorically repudiated the complicacy in the fact of shooting down the jet, though the intelligence service of the USA and Canada asserted that the Boeing 737 was shot down by the Iranian missile.
New York Times has publicized the video showing the missile hitting the jetliner.
The jet crash of January 8 in Teheran sacrificed 167 passengers and nine crew members. Eighty-two of the passengers were Iranians.
