"The organizers of the Tokyo Olympics may not allow spectators in the stadiums due to the emergency regime imposed because of the coronavirus," the Kyodo agency reports based on the Prime Minister, Yoshihide Suga.
However, there is a possibility that 10 thousand people will be allowed in the venues.
The final decision will be announced today, June 21.
The Tokyo Olympics was supposed to be held last year, but international sports competitions got postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The games will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
