Shalva Natelashvili: The Congressmen promised to remain our friends

Shalva Natelashvili reacts to the congressmen’s letter. He says the statements mean that the USA does not leave its strategic partner. The leader of the Labor Party talked about it during the press conference.

“I had an intensive communication with senators and congressmen, and they promised to remain our friends. They perceive us as an equal country of the ancient Christian civilization. They are not ready to forgive anybody the usurpation of this country or changing its democratization route. Some people turned the country into a personal business?! They care less about anyone and anything?! There is time to come, and there is time to go,” – said Natelashvili

James Risch, the Chairperson of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Jeanne Shaheen, the member Subcommittee on Europe and Regional Security Cooperation, has sent a letter to Giorgi Gakharia, noting that Georgia is "refusing" its commitments to build democratic institutions.

Pete Olson, the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman, said that the Frontera Resources was no longer drilling, and Putin was happy because he controlled Georgian oil. Olson also criticized Bidzina Ivanishvili. He posted a video of his speech on his Twitter page.

The UNM member, Salome Samadashvili, publicized another letter from an American Congressman. The message of the Georgian government criticism written by Rojer Vickers is dated December 19.

The letter reads that Georgia must adopt the election system desirable for the society, to ensure the development of multi-party democracy in the country.

Marqwayne Mallin also wrote a letter to Georgian Prime Minister, Giorgi Gakharia.

The Congressman wrote on the continuing decline from democratic values and the associated decay of its economic prosperity.

Mallin wrote that he joined his colleagues in Congress, Adam Kinzinger, and Gerry Connolly in their letter that had highlighted the concern over the decision to forego promised democratic reforms.
